With just me, the cat is in charge of where we go, when we stop, and what’s interesting. Plus, other dogs don’t freak out and start barking when they see him and vice versa. He just gets to be cool. There are certain sounds he doesn’t like, but they turn out to be relatively rare. He doesn’t mind normal cars and trucks, or dogs, or anything like that. But certain heavy duty trucks have some sort of sound that he doesn’t like at all. It also helps keep him from running up trees and getting stuck; I can stop him while he’s still not up on branches I can’t reach. This last image here is one of my favorites. The golden dog you see there was our family dog who passed away in April. Her story is in September of my first grade, our beloved husky, Rebel (and boy was she one), passed away. I was so heartbroken, I was only 6 at the time but Rebel and I did everything together. So one day my mom is coming back from dropping me off at school and she slams on the breaks and this truck ahead of her slams on his because Lo and behold, there is a small, forlorn puppy with a bungee collar around her neck and some of her paw pads were loose from walking on so much pavement—she was clearly neglected. At the time we already have a few dogs and cats at home (I live on a farm) and so my mom was uncertain if we could take care of her, but the guy with the truck said “I can’t keep her; we’ve got 4 dogs at home and we can’t afford another.” Well, my mom was also born and raised on a farm and loves animals so she said, “I can’t fit her in my car, can you drive her back to my house?” So 10 minutes later this little ~6 month old dog is at our house where we give her fresh food and water and call the vet so she can be checked up. A new dog! I wasn’t excited, but confused. Where did this dog come from, I wonder. Are we going to keep her?

Not easy but I have grown to hate her for the behaviour she displays with accusing me of horrendous and disgusting things toward her and my children. Been arrested, no charges insufficient evidence, two court appearances, the judge gave primary care giver of my kids to me. She was trying to have me not see them at all. Now the matter is listed for a trial hearing next month. Thus far this has just about depleted my entire bank account of $200,000. Have to sell the family home within 90 days or come up with another $200,000 to pay her out. She has also gotten half my superannuation retirement money while she gets double my income but this isn’t displayed on paper as half her earnings are cash money under the table deals.
