As to making Cats and weed shirt big, that will obviously depend on the type of market you pursue and the number of potential clients in that market. Most smaller local businesses either don’t have a presence, or else have a site that needs some serious work. They will be satisfied with basically a static site which is a point of reference for traditional advertising. Thus the yellow pages and the newspaper listings or classified ads will say, “See our web site at tomsmowerrepair.com.” This kind of thing, has, in fact, been devastating to the yellow pages people who once had a huge monopoly on print advertising. And it is a good selling point. For way less than the cost of a yellow pages AD, you can have a much better web site. The design fees for such clients may be small -perhaps just $300 or so a crack- but you can knock them off at a rate of perhaps 5 or 10 per week; not too bad. Of course, once the site is up and running, the client may not choose to change it on any regular basis. Unless you also handle the site registration and hosting, there is no guaranteed renewal.

I have also lived in China (PRC), and have heard some Cats and weed shirt about “the system”, and how this is like what Taiwan was like earlier on. Again though, I have not met a perpetrator or a victim of such a crime, and I have met criminals, or people the government considers to be criminals. Now, it is very curious when someone who has emigrated from China to the US then goes to the site of a US company, and mobilizes her friends to argue against racism against Chinese or Sinophobia in the US by a white person, because a white person cannot possibly understand what it is like to be Chinese, right? (Doesn’t that frame all white people as idiots? Isn’t that a racist generalization?).

The only tip I disagree with is the advice to finish everything. I think finishing is important, but there are great Cats and weed shirt (like ‘The House that Built Me’), mediocre ones and truly terrible ones. (For example, the first time I wrote a song with a group of kids, I accepted the title ‘Toilet’s Stink.’ We were at a camp, so it was pertinent, but not a great idea.) If not finishing is the result of your critical editor making you feel like you’re not worthy, then finishing becomes more important. But if the idea is only mediocre (or worse), then finishing isn’t as necessary. IMO, everything isn’t worth spending equal time on. Develop the wisdom to know which songs are worth finishing, and finish those. It’s okay to put songs on the shelf until you’re ready go back to them. Don’t settle (you will know when you are). ‘Good’ is the enemy of great. Re-write weaker efforts until everything is at the level of your best work. Write, get feedback, re-write, repeat.
Penelope Devereux’s Cats and weed shirt was offered to Sidney in marriage, but Sidney declined. Penelope went on to marry Lord Robert Rich. It was only after her marriage to Lord Rich that Sidney realised he was in love with Penelope. The Sonnet 1 captures the after effect of this incident. He seeks to use his poem to win the grace of his lover through his poem by first providing her pleasure in his pain, then hoping that the pleasure may cause her to read which would lead to knowledge and that knowledge would lead to pity first and ultimately to grace. But that’s not all! The Sonnet 1 is also Sidney’s quick lesson on how to write a poem. Sidney is clearly criticising the practice of some of his contemporary poets who relied on imitating popular trends, styles and words. But Sidney is not so keen on doing that and that’s why he says – “And others’ feet still seem’d but strangers in my way.”
