I stopped only after driving a mile or two up the road realizing my mistake, pulling as far to the right side as I reasonably could, and leaned my head out the window to gauge my chances of backing out, only to have the razorblades of wind and ice slap me across the face like an irate parent. With just me, the cat is in charge of where we go, when we stop, and what’s interesting. Plus, other dogs don’t freak out and start barking when they see him and vice versa. He just gets to be cool. There are certain sounds he doesn’t like, but they turn out to be relatively rare. He doesn’t mind normal cars and trucks, or dogs, or anything like that. Twice a day we fought the battle. Sometimes it seemed more of the liquid amoxicillin ended up on me than in her. Bunny got pretty good at figuring out the signs that I was looking to give her medicine, and there was a lot of hide-and-seek and sneaking up on her to get the medicine into her. Sure, it’s gorgeous.. if you like burnt red tourists piling on top of each other as far as the eye can see. Have you see a waterpark in China? maybe not, but you can imagine what a shopping mall looks like on Xmas Eve in New York. Well Bondi Beach is comparatively not so dissimilar. Honestly, NSW (New South Wales, the State in which Sydney is) boats so many beautiful beaches that you could forget Bondi all together. The whole of Bondi itself is hipster-ville and you don’t see many (any?) real Aussie locals, probably forced out by the myriad backpacker hostels and shared rental houses. Fortunately I do love dogs. But that’s irrelevant and not a reason to love a beach.

I was shocked when he came back the next day and brought his wife with him to look at me. They said I looked a lot like someone called Dusk at a shelter in Lakefield and that they were planning to adopt him. Oh, poop, I thought.
