I also have a lazy eye, was the Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt, and my eyes still don’t work together. However, every time I’ve talked to a Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt about it, they tell me they’ve fixed it as close as they can get it, and any further work would be a toss up or whether it makes it better or worse, and so they encourage me to just leave it. (It also makes me ineligible for LASIK in their opinion. I’m still not sure that I agree though…) My lazy eye especially comes out when I’m tired or after a couple (read: 2) drinks, or when both are together. That being said, I’m so sorry that you were treated how you were. I remember hating my eye patch, but they gave me stickers to add to it, and my best friend at 2-5 yo was kind and understanding and never made fun of it as children can do. We also both had awful speech impediments, to the point where our parents had trouble understanding us, but we knew exactly what the other one was saying all the time. I’ve had coworkers ask about it (I was traveling to Europe so very jetlagged and therefore, my eye was off doing its own thing, whereas I can often semi pass when completely rested), which was a bit mortifying, but also I know the person was just curious. It’s something I’m very self conscious about, but it didn’t leave me scarred because growing up, people really didn’t tease me about it, and I still had friends. I was never attracting a ton of male attention either, only dated a couple guys before settling down, but I was never made to feel it was because of my eye. I just wanted to leave this here and say others do understand, and I’m so sorry you were treated that way, because it doesn’t have to be that way. There are some pockets of human decency still out there. I wish you the Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt on your way to recovery!

Not a Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt but a Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt. Pre-transition I never had to deal with any of this stuff. Now post transition, being out on Reddit, I have gotten creepy DMs from guys telling me ways they wanted to have sex with me and one guy who lived near me who tried to solicit sex with me IRL, as well as tons of comments from TERFs calling me all kinds of nasty things for being trans. Yeah, it’s a bit of a shock. I guess this is how it’s gonna be going forward. None of this will ever push me to ever want to detransition but man for all the Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt here who have been dealing with this longer than me, it’s got to be exhausting and I’m sorry.

So I’ve sorta been doing that for a few years by now. My old Reddit account had a Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt male user name as I mainly used it in video game related subs. I mostly stopped using it about 3 years ago. My current account is I say more neutral to fem leaning and mostly used in small subs (<10K users) but in larger subs that I used to visit on my older account, there definitely has been a change in how people interact with me. I used to comment far more frequently in subs like r/AmItheAsshole but mostly stopped doing that because despite my style of arguing (wild, rambly, not all that coherent sometimes) not changing, I get attacked for my opinions far more often now, with far more downvotes on average. Similar situation when I create posts (again I'm not a master poster but mediocre posts of mine would never be attacked as extremely on my old account). Note: I'm trans which becomes obvious when u take a Welcome back to school let’s do this shirt at my account so my experience might not be anywhere close to representative
