Even in the context of late medieval/Early Modern Europe, this book is horrendously sexist. It basically blames women for all the evils plaguing mankind, i.e. “the devil is bad but he works through women.” Although men can become witches, women are more likely to be witches because they experience insatiable lust, and the Devil offers them sexual satisfaction. It was commonly believed in the Middle Ages that women were lustful while men were not (almost the polar opposite of today, and women still get the short end of the stick), but this book takes it a step further. Its argument is that women are physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually weaker than men, therefore they are naturally inclined towards the Devil.

There’s no going back now, and Ruth showed us how to say, “here I stand, I can go no further.” Because that’s just it. The UCLA 2022 Road to March Madness shirt factions are after something they were told was easier and picturesque. They never lived it, and they’re already falling apart over a pandemic. And the Taliban even managed a heroic win against the Soviet Union! So Afghanistan is our option if we lose. Jews, Blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, Gays, Non-binary and intersex people, and women we’ll all have to choose slavery or not existing. People who have only their lives left always fight harder. The greatest hope now is that if war comes, it’s a guaranteed win for progress but we just might not get that far.

For those of you who think I’m just making things up now, yes there is a UCLA 2022 Road to March Madness shirt of Thor. Without getting too far into comic book storylines (which at this point have become so convoluted that even the most arduous of fans have trouble keeping track), circumstances arose where the character played by Natalie Portman in the Thor franchise received Mjolnir and the power of Thor. Whether this was a good direction for the comic book is unimportant, what is important is that this change gives us the chance to referee a fight between Wonder Woman and a female Thor. Though I think this would be a close one, I have to give the edge to Thor. The ability to shoot lightning always serves as a trump card.
