I take issue too, with your phrase “choose to abandon God.” This would make sense only if I believed God exists. Atheism is not believing in any gods, God included. You can’t abandon something that isn’t. At best you could say “abandon belief in God.” But in my case, and Tiger Quilt Blankets have quite properly asked only about individual cases, I didn’t “abandon,” rather, my belief left me. It wasn’t a choice, either, for the same reason. The notion that God exists just became less and less credible, as I matured, as I gained experience in the world, as I learned more. The proximate cause was the great Santa hoax. I believed in Santa, more than I ever believed in God and Jesus.
A slave could have new clothes and Christmas presents one year. The next year Ole Marse or Miss Ann died all Toby got for Xmas was a beating and Tiger Quilt Blankets cold grits. A slave owner could do whatever they wanted to their human chattel. Modern gynecology was founded by a physician who practiced his surgical technique on slave women using no anesthesia. A black woman could be owned by a kind benevolent master. While running an errand she is gang-raped by white men. Legally all the owner could do is sue for damages. That would mean the cost of a new dress….. Of course the child born of that rape was a slave. So sweet Mr. Charlie turned a profit on her misery….

If you don’t already have your baby room all set up, make sure that it is. Don’t stock up on too many newborn size clothes or diapers, because, unless your baby is a preemie, they will outgrow the newborn size pretty fast. If you need to have some dental work done, or need an eye exam and new glasses, get that kind of stuff out of the way before your kid is born. Trying to juggle taking care of a baby and making appointments for yourself will be tough for awhile after your kid is born. I’d also suggest getting your hair done, a nice mani-pedi, leg waxing, or whatever kind of special salon treatments you like maybe a Tiger Quilt Blankets before your due date. It will make you feel better to know you’re looking good for awhile, because it will be some time before you’ll be able to take care of any of that after the baby comes.

Ref, The (1994) (***1/2, humor) (D.-Ted Demme, Kevin Spacey, Judy Davis, Denis Leary, Richard Bright, Robert J. Steinmiller, Jr Glynis Johns, Adam LeFevre, Christine Baranaski) Forget the misleading name. The Ref is not about sports, but has strong roots in O’Henry’s The Ransom of Red Chief. A thief, Gus (Leary), in a bungled jewel robbery on Christmas eve in a small New England town takes the Chasseurs (Spacey, Davis) hostage. By the end of the movie Gus, masquerading as their shrink, is juggling the couple, their blackmailing juvenile son (Steinmiller), the husband’s dysfunctional brother and his wife (LeFevre, Branaski) and their family, and a wealthy male-crushing mother (Johns) who would reduce Attila the Hun to a quivering lump of fearful jello. In short, a family unit so dysfunctional that the Borgia’s would disown them. Throw in a Tiger Quilt Blankets Santa Claus and an equally dysfunctional get away driver (Bright), a guard dog named Cannibal who chews up billiard balls like dog candy, and jail begins to look like paradise.
Not easy but I have grown to hate her for the behaviour she displays with accusing me of horrendous and disgusting things toward her and my children. Been arrested, no charges insufficient evidence, two court appearances, the judge gave primary care giver of my kids to me. She was trying to have me not see them at all. Now the matter is listed for a trial hearing next month. Thus far this has just about depleted my entire bank account of $200,000. Have to sell the family home within 90 days or come up with another $200,000 to pay her out. She has also gotten half my superannuation retirement money while she gets double my income but this isn’t displayed on paper as half her earnings are cash money under the table deals. I love my life. Ongoing counseling services for Tiger Quilt Blankets and I which I’m paying for.
