Now, above my desk there is a small [white] shelf with exposed sides, about an inch thick. The white space was bothering me more than my Geography books were apparently, so I decided to cover them. at the end of 5 mins, half of the 2m long side was covered with multi colored post-its with my favorite song quotes on them. Another thing you should know is that every day I go out to play basketball with about 7 others, but I had told them not to call me out to play those 2 weeks on account of my exams. When I heard the doorbell ring, I told my grandmother to please tell my friends that I wouldn’t be coming out.

My 64 year English professor in college had a boyfriend. He would visit her sometimes on campus wearing tie-dye t-shirts, soccer mom jeans and sported a ponytail. She was just one year younger than my grandmother. Back home, boyfriends are for teens and young adults. Old people have husbands/wives or just pass away alone (assuming spouse dies before they do), maybe with a religious book/prayer beads/rosary in hand. No dressing up and hitting the clubs followed by wine and cheese parties. Just a bit bewildering to believe until someone from the East comes here.

No, they may need help for a surgery or for a grave in the mountains, that was devastated by wild boars, or for studiing at a famous university. Or they became poor by gambling. Therefor think about a donation of 2,000 or 30,000 US $. Don’t expect much gratitude. You are a family member!

The word Lunar New Year is a Teaching 2nd Grade On Twosday 2 22 22 22nd February 2022 T Shirt (2)of Tết Âm Lịch (the Lunar Calendar Tết). Not many people call it by this name in Vietnam since we don’t need to, but you will see this when Vietnamese people are overseas. The reason is we just want to be inclusive of the Chinese and Koreans, and also to distinguish it from the New Year or January 1st. Chinese New Year would be translated as Tết Trung Quốc. Personally I don’t dislike this name but I do hate that it makes people think only Chinese people celebrate this festival. Because of this name, many Korean and Vietnamese people face annoying questions like “why are you celebrating Chinese New Year if you’re not Chinese”. If you hear this more than 10 times in a day, it’s understandable that you would hate this name. And why have such an exclusive name in multicultural countries where not just Chinese communities exist? If you are a company wouldn’t you want to sell to as many customers as possible?
