Sikorsky/Boeing Raider X Coaxial compound rotors with Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low Short prop Much faster than a topical helicopter and has demonstrated very good maneuverability. This is the only one of the FARA entries that actually has a working test bed and has been flying for a while now in the form of the S-97. Probably more expensive because of the increased gearbox complexity, and likely higher maintenance costs. But, super cool and the one I’m most excited about.L3/AVX created a coaxial compound aircraft with TWO ducted fans for extra propulsion. Should be fast, but will likely be more expensive to build and maintain. My guess is more expensive than the Raider X above. Not sure if it will have any advantages over the Raider either. Then the above 360 Invictus. As mentioned in other comments on this thread it looks like they’re trying meet the requirements inexpensively. More of an evolution than a revolution, has some neat tricks, like whatever that supplemental power unit is, but not as exciting as the other twoThere’s also the assault/attack helicopter. Basically Blackhawk/Apache replacements. Those are super cool. Right now we have the SB1 Defiant, which is a scaled up S-97 kinda, and the Bell V280 valor which is kinda a mini osprey. I’d look at those too if you’re interested.
Best Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low Short
He keeps talking about speed with the Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low Short weapons and low drag design. I’m not an expert by any means but my first immediate thought was commanche — anyone who knows more than me think this is also supposed to have at least limited stealth capability?Hmm finally something new into these shows, all the 4×4’s and 8×8’s and all the old IFV’s with some 105mm Cockeril contraption on them eat away at my intelligence.
