My friend Brian was a Senior Year Baseball Dad Class of 2022 Senior 2022 Shirt Washington D.C., restaurateur whose domains included two famed D.C restaurants and more recently an Annapolis restaurant. I came to know him because he and I commuted from Bowie, Md., via the MARC line to Union Station and as we awaited our ride, we fell into conversation. He lived with his wife, Josie, and their two little ones in a somewhat palatial house near me, and it was not too long before they, and my wife and I, became friends; in and out of each other’s homes, Kennedy Center productions, and similar shared times together. Brian’s wife Josie was a hip lady, daughter of one of the owners of an MLB team, and well connected with figures in the world of sports and entertainment. But her evacuation from New York City society to a remote property outside Annapolis presented somewhat of a challenge. After caring for the two little ones, there was not much for her to do, while she awaited Brian’s return each day from D.C.

By the time I realized how distressed the war survivor was, we were starting the Senior Year Baseball Dad Class of 2022 Senior 2022 Shirt cake routine. I could only imagine the horrors the objecting father had lived through, with his home village destroyed in the violence he’d survived. That man had a Ph.D. in some kind of engineering and was married to a nationally recognized, award-winning journalist. He had two beautiful children and lived in a charming hilltop home he’d personally remodeled. His life was full and rich. Yet, the pain he carried ran deep and was ever present. I don’t think the other fathers or the children ever realized what was going on with that. That father was a tall, rugged “man’s man,” seemingly, but he had a deep sensitivity as well. Once, knowing he felt comfortable around livestock, I asked him to hold my horned goat while I trimmed her hooves. As I trimmed close to the blood supply but not too close, he became nervous, imploring me to take her to the “hospital” if I was going to cut more. That surprised me, but I appreciated his acute concern for our pet goat.

After the meds were finished, I began the Senior Year Baseball Dad Class of 2022 Senior 2022 Shirt that I had dreaded – what to do with BD. I had truly fallen in love with this cat. He was more dog than cat. When I would come home at night, he waited by the door. He knew the sound of my car engine! Despite being less than a foot head to tail, he would leap waist high to me (I’m a hair under 6 feet) when I would open the door. I would cuddle him like a baby then put him down before kissing the wife. How can one NOT love any animal like that? Despite the non-linearity of this paragraph, my wife also fell in love with BD. The conversation of whether to keep him was short. “He stays” came from she who must be obeyed. It was the shortest discussion ever. I could go on with BD stories… but this is how we met, him standing at the door when I opened it. One of the best things I ever did in my life was opening the door.

Badly. Sorry about this tone, but that is really all I have to say about how it’s taught here. Dutch people are very ignorant about their own history, as well as other histories, due to the knee-jerk coverage of some historic items, without giving pupils even a Senior Year Baseball Dad Class of 2022 Senior 2022 Shirt what history means to them. I only remember the chronology of the history lessons that I got as a kid, but it may give you an idea of what we learnt. I know that history lessons started with simple theory about hunter-gatherers, early farmers, then going on to teach about the Greeks and the Romans.I remember that in the same period I used to play the computer game Age of Empires, and it was only years later that I discovered that the civilizations that you could choose from in that game were actually historically existing ones not just randomly fantasized names.
