Sam Kerr Football Matildas signature shirt

I have a Sam Kerr Football Matildas signature shirt. I’m 30, he’s my second child, and it’s still really hard. My baby does sometimes sleep for 3 hours at a time, but it can not be depended on. We have 3 hour stretches where he’ll only sleep for 15 minutes a few times. It is absolutely exhausting and can be really frustrating, too. Even if your baby is an unusually calm and content baby, I would doubt the ability of jist about any 13 year old to have the maturity, patience, and judgment to babysit a baby that young. Just as one example: what is the plan for if the baby won’t stop crying? Should the 13yo call mom after 10 minutes? 30? An hour? Not at all? I wouldn’t be okay with this. There are just too many things that could go wrong.

I’m gen-x and my grandpa was born in 1909. We were white and poor (by most standards, though we always had what we needed) and living a Sam Kerr Football Matildas signature shirt, with zero diversity during this time. I was playing devil’s advocate and trying to think of the positives, if there were any to be had. He promptly shut my argument down, and reminded me to have empathy for people and their stories and to not be so dismissive of the ugliness of history. I really credit that particular conversation with him as the catalyst that made me think of other people before forming an opinion on things, regardless of whether I’m directly affected by their situations or not. My grandpa was awesome. This was a man who farmed and did other manual labor all his life (literally into his 70s) to put food on the table and pay bills. Neither he nor my grandma graduated school (I believe he went til the 8th grade and my grandma until the 3rd when she had to quit to help her family raise her younger siblings…imagine that for a second….8 years old). They were two of the best people I’ve ever known. How is it that someone who was born in 1909 and racially isolated his whole life had a more accurate viewpoint of US history than the people who are pushing this bullshit?
