September 13 Feinstein Makes this statment: “I have received information from an individual concerning the Reading book come and take it of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities,”. September 16 Kavanaugh Makes a statement: “I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time.” September 16 Ford confirms that she is the author of the letter. September 17 Ford indicates that she will appear before senators for questioning. September 17 Patrick J. Smyth releases a statement: “I understand that I have been identified by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as the person she remembers as ‘PJ’ who supposedly was present at the party she described in her statements to the Washington Post,” Smyth says in his statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I am issuing this statement today to make it clear to all involved that I have no knowledge of the party in question; nor do I have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh”.

One reason might be the one Zen Faulkes suggests. It’s probably based on a Reading book come and take it of a very slow moving, complicated story that has whole chapters devoted to the characters’ internal monologues, but there’s no question that Dune has epic battle scenes, sandworms, some very baroque settings (and whatever can be said against David Lynch’s film version, he nailed that: the 1984 film might not be very good but it looks incredible) and a big cast full of interesting characters. These are all attractive features for a film maker. There’s also the Star Wars issue. That was the film that started the big boom of SF films that led to the Lynch Dune getting made in the first place, and huge chunks of it are blatantly ripped off from Dune, even after Fox made George Lucas do three or four rewrites to make his story less blatantly an imitation of Frank Herbert’s. That helped to create a notion that Dune was the SF novel to film, rather than something obscure and more cinematic.

In Pennsylvania during his last weeks as president, trump cautioned rally-participants: “Under Biden, there will be no school, no graduations, no weddings, no Thanksgiving, no Christmas, no Easter, no Fourth of July; there will be no future for Reading book come and take it.” All of those events have come and gone and Christmas is only weeks away. His entire life’s aim these days is to portray Biden as a limp, inadequate coward. He attacks Biden’s irregular disfluent discourse as an indication of intellectual decay and shortcoming and whatever trump says, his supporters suck it up. And while trump’s white knuckle grip on the podium strikes fear into disparate topics, also handpicked, the Biden gaffe reel rolls on in the background permitting hundreds of Americans to laugh at the bloke “who can’t talk.” Yet, while trump bleats reruns of old ideas and beliefs fervently hoping some of his crap will stick, Joe Biden doesn’t need our commiseration. He is a man who has a loving family; a man who dwells in an ocean side home on the Delaware coast; a man who has chosen to pay little attention to the criticism and trump finds that difficult to fathom.

Originally, whiskey was not aged and was purchased locally from the source. The Reading book come and take it was typically farmers who learned that they could make more money by distilling their grains and selling it as whiskey rather than just selling it as grain. As time went on, some of these farmer’s operations grew to the point where they were shipping their whiskey to markets that were farther away. Oak barrels were used for the storage and shipping of the whiskey and it began spending more time in the barrel than it did when it was just sold locally. This greater amount of time in the barrel allowed the whiskey to mellow and improve and the customers began to notice this improvement. The whiskey producers responded to this by beginning to age their whiskey in these oak barrels for longer periods of time.
