My Bichon Frise died last year at 14 1/2. I adopted him when he was 7 weeks old. He was a very independent dog. I don’t know whether this was something I taught him or just his personality. From a Randy Orton RKO Legend Killer T Shirt, I trained him and socialized him well. I gave him the full run of the house when he was 2 months old and did very well up until he passed away. Whenever I had to leave (for work, errands, etc), I made sure it was a ‘non-event’ for him so he wouldn’t suffer from separation anxiety. I also left the TV on for him to a cartoon channel. Every time I walked out the door, I calmly said “I love you. I’ll be back. Be a good boy’. The first 2 years of his life, I went home (from work) at lunch time to feed him and take him for a walk. A few times, I walked in with him in front of the TV watching ‘Caillou’. Otherwise, he would sleep by the door leading to the garage, waiting for my return or whichever door I left from.

You see, Christmas Eve is really the Randy Orton RKO Legend Killer T Shirt when my mom’s sisters and brothers would all gather in South Boston with their kids (My cousins of course.) Since they too were teens like myself back in the day, they all did their own thing on Christmas morning — But the one thing they didn’t want to do was leave their gifts after opening them. So Christmas Eve became more important to us as a whole to come together, celebrate and then visit midnight mass at the local church before going home. By the time I got home, it was after 1am, so I guess it was really Christmas morning if you want to get technical about it. The gifts were promptly opened and I was in bed no later than 3am to sleep most of the morning in peace. Now with two kids of my own, I will be getting up Christmas morning to greet the day and watch their faces. Mainly because Santa Claus is still important to them and he only visits on Christmas Eve when you’re asleep as all know.

I agree with the Randy Orton RKO Legend Killer T Shirt , Damron Corner, and demand that you name who these people are that are ‘against Christmas,” since I don’t know of anyone. Never saw or heard of any protests against Christmas, nor read any articles online or off. On your profile you tout yourself as “Dropper of 100 ft. trees; not much else.” It’s not clear to me if you spend your time dropping out of hundred-foot trees or if you are a lumberjack felling tall trees. Either way, I guess you don’t make much profit on Christmas trees. Possibly that eats away at your soul? I really can’t why else you would think anyone is against Christmas these days. Some Christians claim to be against the secularism and commercialism of Christmas. Their line is: Don’t take Christ out of Christmas. The problem with that is that these self-same Christians love Nativity Scenes, Angels, Shepherds, and other fancy stuff that that requires commercialism, i.e. stores where they can buy the stuff for their scenes and celebrations. Not to mention gift-giving. And they own the stores and businesses that sell this Christmasy stuff. So who, I ask, is against Christmas if it isn’t guys like you who can’t make a profit off it?

Midwinter celebrations are nothing new – and certainly not originally Christian! It’s no coincidence that the Christian festival of Christmas falls close to the midwinter solstice. People of Randy Orton RKO Legend Killer T Shirt and religions have been feasting at this time of year for thousands of years. In Britain, the earliest pre-Saxon midwinter solstice was represented by the Holly King: a pagan figure who for-shadowed the coming of spring. He would wear a long, green hooded cloak and a wreath of holly, ivy or mistletoe: In Early British mythology the Oak King and the Holly King were twins, pitted against each other in a never-ending fight for supremacy. Every year at the Winter and Summer solstices, the kings would fight for dominance: in midwinter the Oak King won, and at Mid-summer the Holly King was the victor. Despite being enemies, without one, the other would no longer exist. Yule, meanwhile, is another ancient Pagan festival, historically observed by the Germanic peoples. The season was originally connected with the Wild Hunt, the god Odin, and the Mōdraniht, or ‘Night of the Mothers’ celebrated by the by Pagan Anglo-Saxons. With the end of the longest night the dark is defeated with the Return of the Sun, the return of light, hope and promise. The Goddess gives birth to the Sun/Sun God. When Britain was settled by the Saxons and other Germanic tribes in the fifth and sixth centuries CE, the earlier Holly King took on the characteristics of the Saxon Father Time, also known as King Frost or King Winter.
