Fast forward 6 months, we’re in Sicily again. My husband asks her to babysit for 2 hours so we can go watch a movie at the cinema down the street. She said NO, because she doesn’t understand my son’s baby talk. Both me and my husband told her it’s wrong, how she dealt with it. She denied being wrong. Then we go and find a babysitter and she gets pissed because “why do we need a babysitter, can’t she do it?” It just drove us bonkers. This was 1 month ago. July, I was supposed to go there with my son, so he can meet his cousin and uncle visiting from very far away. She seemed less than enthusiastic at the Pomeranian Sleeping Angel Ornament. So one night, my husband calls her, tells her I’m out ( I was in the next room) and asks what’s the problem with me coming over there. She said I’m high maintenance and I rely on her too much, and she can’t deal with 2 nephews and 2 daughters in law at the same time. That i bring too much luggage ( 1 suitcase for 1 month typically) and I change my clothes too often!

Travis Knight proves that it was Michael Bay that was what was wrong with the Transformers film series. All Bay wanted was action scene after action scene, racist and stereotypical characters, shots of girls in bikini’s with the Pomeranian Sleeping Angel Ornament gleaming off of them, and Linkin Park- there is nothing wrong with the last one, but everything else was not okay! Bay also made the Transformers inaccesable. Their designs were a confusing mess, their circumstances never seemed to change, and they kind of just appeared out of nowhere and no proper explanations were ever given throughout all five films! Yes, I loved the first Transformers film in 2007, and I liked Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and The Last Knight. I thought those films were fun, popcorn action flicks. However Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction were just awful films, and to many, so was Revenge. I certainly see what is wrong with Revenge, however I have fond memories of seeing it for the first time that stuck with me.

It took one year to complete this fiber piece. It’s a large embellished needlepoint and is Pomeranian Sleeping Angel Ornamentd “ Death of Venus.” It’s difficult to see, but every inch contains glass beads, seed beads, sea pearls, bugle beads, sea shells, and metal beads surrounding an array of mostly vintage jewelry parts and found objects. The yarn is a mixture of contemporary and vintage yarn. The piece was created for a juried craft art show on “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead). The show was juried by the assistant curator of the Salvadore Dali Museum. I’m proud to say I won Best of Show. The story behind the art: The name of the piece, “The Death of Venus”, is a play off of Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”.
