Besides the shock and horror and depression and genuine concern for my personal life and the country and world in general, it finally almost broke my relationship with my mother. We’ve always disagreed politically, as well as on my lifestyle but I somehow always assumed and wondered if she was partially or completely right on issues of disagreement or at least had some good points. Occasionally in the heat of spouting talking points I’d doubt that she had any sense or knowledge at all, but once she voted for that “man” I snapped. I cancelled my trip to visit for xmas and stopped speaking to her almost completely until the petition started going around to get the electors to jump ship and when she finally signed it I decided to act like her son again as long as she never breathes another word about politics to me again. I now realize she is totally just another brain dead FOX automaton and I can’t stand seeing her that way. As long as she just talks about flowers and friends and jobs and hobbys and dogs etc I can forget what she’s become, but it came pretty close to her losing her son completely. In a way I feels like I have lost her, or at least all of my respect for Personalized SM Kids Gift Christmas Ornament. And it’s really sad.

Simplicity: What I love about this trailer, the whole thing feels simple. The designs of the Transformers are no longer the complicated mess they once were. You can actually see their transformation, and recognise what parts go with what. Its much more in line with the original designs of the characters. But the story seems smaller. I love how they are setting it up with Bumblebee crashing down to earth and two other Transformers arrive to arrest him. This sets up Bumblebee as a wrongly accused citizen of Cybertron, this also gives context as to why Bumblebee was already on earth in the first Transformers film. I also like, for as much as it disregards to canon of the Personalized SM Kids Gift Christmas Ornament series thus far, it also has some connecting assests. This is obviously not a reboot, so things need to remain somewhat consistent. The way the Transformers travel from planet to planet, in an astroid sort of shape, still remains as shown in the trailer. However in the first film, it is shown that the Transformers had the Bay design on Cybertron. In this film however on Cybertron they seem to have a new design, which doesn’t match up. But I am quite happy with this new found simplicity.

It took one year to complete this fiber piece. It’s a large embellished needlepoint and is Personalized SM Kids Gift Christmas Ornamentd “ Death of Venus.” It’s difficult to see, but every inch contains glass beads, seed beads, sea pearls, bugle beads, sea shells, and metal beads surrounding an array of mostly vintage jewelry parts and found objects. The yarn is a mixture of contemporary and vintage yarn. The piece was created for a juried craft art show on “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead). The show was juried by the assistant curator of the Salvadore Dali Museum. I’m proud to say I won Best of Show. The story behind the art: The name of the piece, “The Death of Venus”, is a play off of Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”.
