Because people do not acknowledge the important work housewives do. I remember being super disappointed during Stephen King’s IT, which I laughed all the way through. The story was supposed to be about small town complacency, but the movie didn’t okay that up and so it just lacked depth to me. In the end, it was just a ‘scary movie,’ which when they lack depth, can be pretty funny.I think it depends on the person and the movie. I have worked on a couple independent horror films (like way independent movies that were never released, and one that was released that you have never heard of) and I think I see the actors playing out the ridiculous scenes in my mind, and how much fun they are having at least as often as I actually find myself sympathize with the character the actors are portraying in the film. Sometimes I am seeing how an effect is done and how silly it must have been being there behind the curtain to make a believable in film effect.Furthermore I get a rush. That rush releases endorphins and when you aren’t scared, those endorphins are pretty pleasant. I actually enjoy the rush of a car accident (in real life, not on tv). Being in a car as it spins to the wrong side of the road, knowing that you have no control, as a passenger in a car is a great feeling of being carefree and letting go. It is a release, and sometimes knowing that you can’t change the outcome of the situation in a movie also triggers that feeling of release. Sometimes that sensation triggers a giggle, it is a kind of suicidal/crazy giggle, but it is still a giggle.
