Going to a doctor and seeking help is an act of self love and teaching fat people that they are worth that self love – something that the body positivity movement seeks to do – is what motivates people to get their physical or mental health issues that are leading to their weight problems in check. Medical stores have been acting terrible. I go to buy some digene and they give me 2 sheets instead of 1 and force sale. I ask for vitamin B and they give the 10x costlier multivitamin.. I know it’s original cost because I went to buy it in that same shop 2 months before that (before lockdown) and didn’t buy it because same model was there for Rs.80 in the city marketplace. Apart from that day light scamming, discounts are great.. I bought 2 packs of Vantej toothpaste for Rs 136 each saving Rs.24 each. I’ve been buying supplies from Amazon & Flipkart (except vegetables) for low cost. And sometimes go to offline stores such as Metro/Reliance Mart(the big ones that seel for low cost, not Reliance Fresh), but they’re very far from my house. I bought my laptop from Amazon. Outside the same one cost rs.20k higher. Cost of electronics like laptops, tv, washing machine, fridge etc. seem pretty fluid and offline stores have it atleast 10-20% costlier all the time. There is the risk of recieving dead products, and some products are better bought offline. But I’d definitely check online first to have an idea of rates to not get scammed.
