I don’t enjoy how expensive groceries are.I was working in New Haven up until February of this year when I started a remote job for a company based out of Manhattan (Midtown), New York. Originally, I was going to move to either Norwalk or Stamford (my preference) when my East Haven lease was supposed to end in August 2021. But living in New York City had always been my DREAM, and I thought if I don’t do it now while city rental prices are still low, I may never be able to afford it!So I broke my East Haven lease and found an insanely good deal on a studio in a pre-war building on the Upper East Side. I sold almost all of my possessions and furniture to downsize from a 900 square foot, one-bedroom to a 300 square foot studio.I’ve met so many people who say they can’t wait to leave Connecticut. Well, I can’t wait to get back, and I intend to when my NYC lease is up in April 2022.
