Because like it or not Christmas is as much or more so a secular American holiday than it is a Christian holiday. I have known plenty of non-Christians that celebrate Christmas. Jews, Atheists, Muslims, Hindus. I have known a whole lot of non Christians who get into the Christmas spirit.
