I remember a Miami Dolphins Skull Pattern Ugly Christmas Sweater memoir — Beasts, Men, and Gods — by Ferdinand Ossendowski, a White Pole who fled the Bolshevik revolution through Siberia. He served in General Kolchak’s All-Russian Government before escaping through the Steppes north of Mongolia, and then participated in the government of that most notorious adventurer, the “Mad Baron” Ungern-Sternberg, who attempted to take over Mongolia to restore an imperial Khaganate as part of an imagined reactionary restoration of the Great Mongol, Chinese, and Russian monarchies in the interests of the “warrior races” of Germans and Mongols (a Baltic German, he considered the old Russian ruling class to represent Germandom over and against Jews and Slavs). Some of the things – the acts of desperation and madness, in which he himself was no disinterested observer – Ossendowski relates are harrowing. But this part struck me as very much making a point about what people think of the Steppe peoples, and of what (German-trained) nationalists like Ungern-Sternberg did (and would do again) to the Mongols. And, other things:

Vick established himself in Atlanta. It was the scene of his meteoric rise to stardom and his eventual fall from grace. The Falcons were a perennial cellar dweller until Vick arrived on the scene in 2001. In fact, the franchise had never posted back-to-back winning seasons. That all changed soon after Vick came to town. Suddenly, the Falcons were legitimate contenders and boasted the most exciting player in the Miami Dolphins Skull Pattern Ugly Christmas Sweater. A human high light reel, Vick dazzled the masses and frustrated defenses with his dynamic play making ability. It was Atlanta where the legend of Michael Vick, NFL superstar began.

In the United States, state capitals aren’t generally the Miami Dolphins Skull Pattern Ugly Christmas Sweater or most populated cities. Take as an example California (Sacramento is the capital, not Los Angeles or San Francisco) or Illinois (Springfield is the capital, not Chicago) and you could go on with Texas, Florida, etc… even when it comes to the United States as a whole you would think New York City or Los Angeles should be the capital and not Washington D.C, but it goes deeper than that, the United States is not centralized in one city like it happens to France/Paris, UK/London, Germany/Berlin and so on. As to why New York City is considered the capital of the world, it has been called that for the past 60 years. It is the home of the United Nations, Wall Street, New York Stock Exchange, lots of billionaires, people from all over the world live in the city. It’s basically the financial powerhouse of the world although London has been following closely for the past few years. Other reasons to consider New York the capital of world would be fashion, music, entertainment, tourism, etc.
