Jazz Fest was always my favorite from the first time I went in the mid to late 70s I guess. I have not lived in NO for 20 years but Jazz Fest is something I definitely miss.

There are ponds in the interior and a walking/running/bike path that gives a good workout. The park is filled with old oak trees. Make sure to cross Magazine and see one of the state’s most magnificent live oaks (protected by state law). It’s a sight to see and home to many a selfie and wedding venue. Of course for the most expansive area one must visit City Park (owned by the state and not the city; odd). The park encompasses a golf course, ponds, botanical garden, art museum, amusement park, playgrounds, putt putt, the Big Pond for canoes and the tragic paddle wheel boats, the brand spanking new Children’s Museum, a multi use stadium, tennis courts, plenty of paths for walking and biking. A gem if there ever was one.
