I honestly only found out about all this when the series started and I hadn’t followed the lead-up to it. I personally find her ignorance to be a little baffling considering her age. However, I’m obviously not Karen and I don’t know their life experience, knowledge etc. I’m sure there are still those dolls circulating in Australia and people probably still own them without a second thought which… again, weird to me, even though I know that just because I know they are racist doesn’t mean everyone on the planet knows/thinks that way.When I say don’t give her a pass, I’m not saying that I don’t think her apology is sincere or that she needs to be forever shamed. I was mainly trying to highlight the differences between the two cases and I didn’t want it to read like I was brushing off Karen’s past racism to talk more about Scarlet and relate hers to the competition disproportionately to Karen.I probably should have worded it clearer. I don’t think that in certain cases people who take appropriate steps to rectify behaviour or change themselves or become educated about something cannot or shouldn’t be allowed to move forward.

So I want to be clear that I read the entirety of your piece, and agree with a Lifes too short to be a colony shirt  . But if you want to lead a discussion like this through this medium you really need to be more direct and succinct because these massive walls of text do not foster communication through social mediaAgreed, I read it all and it’s just a lot. I agree with some points but most were a bit of a stretch. POC queens that have gone home because they did evidently bad should not be counted as racism. In the case of Mercedes, it was an unfortunate coincidence because she was def not safe nor the lipsync deserved a double shantay. Did she have to stay only because of the theme of the challenge and the song? Many more counterpoints, way too many.Literally they address exactly what you’re saying multiple times. That you can isolate any one of the examples and say “well its just what it is” but its the fact these are happening over and over and over and over again that’s the problem. The problem is baked into the foundation of the show. These aren’t coincidences.
