My assistant was so grossed out that she couldn’t deal with it. So it was my job to clean up that little girl. You get into this for a love of animals, not to make money. Burnout is high in many techs, it’s a high stress job, you often work long hours. I would say the best thing to do is approach your local vet clinic say you have an interest in being a tech and ask if you can volunteer there or shadow a tech. If hour still in high school, consider doing a semester of co-op to see if it’s the right path for you. It can be an incredibly rewarding profession, but the reality is it’s a lot of hard work for little reward.
