Jurassic Park Ugly Christmas Ugly Sweater
Tough one, because I can see both sides here. Trying to put myself in your shoes (imagining my now-boyfriend asking me of this), I would wear the Jurassic Park Ugly Christmas Ugly Sweater, as I have always greatly cared about his family’s impression of me. Hearing that it is tradition would give me comfort, and a good laugh imagining the other women in the family having done the same, with similar sweaters. At the same time, I’m aware that some aren’t as comfortable with vulgarity as me and my friends & family (which is totally fine and understandable), and if I asked my boyfriend to order another, a super ugly sweater that wasn’t as vulgar, I know that my boyfriend would oblige. You’re in the right for trying to compromise, and relationships are alllll about compromise. This might be showing you an unfortunate side of your boyfriend that you haven’t experienced before, and now have opened your eyes to what future hardships between the two of you might look like. And if his family was rude to you for the simple fact of not wearing a sweater to a party… red flag on their part. NTA.

I don’t agree with these analogies because it portrays that any woman a man finds will be good. There are shitty people/partners on both sides. Women have to dodge a lot of shitty men but they have have volume on their side. So they will find a large number of shitty people faster, but also find the Jurassic Park Ugly Christmas Ugly Sweater. Men have to go through that same process but slower. If 1/100 people are good and women can vet about 20 a week but men can only vet 2 a week yeah from the volume it will seem like a bad deal for women dealing with so much but they will get what they are looking for 10x faster than men that have to slog through all their bad matches at a snails pace. Would you rather have a potential 5 weeks of bad dating or 50? This is what people mean when they say it’s “easier” for women.

I work the night shift at a Jurassic Park Ugly Christmas Ugly Sweater For the past 15 years Thanksgiving and Christmas the suits came in around 1-2am and staffed the cafeteria to serve us a meal. Nothing fancy or tasty, but it was a nice gesture and truly felt like nightshift matters. The suits came in the middle of the night and did a thing just for us. This year they said the cafeteria opens at 645am feel free to stop by on your way out. There was an email saying free holiday meal, but only during normal cafeteria hours. And it was just the regular menu, nothing special except you got a $5 allowance. You can’t fill a plate for $5 BTW. That felt more like a kick in the balls than if they’d just not said anything at all.
