I picked up the tree and moved it over to the VW bug, we had to drop the back seats, and aligned the tree between the two front seats…hey it smelled great in the car.

In the past, I have spent Christmases in Prague, in the Swiss Alps and in Australia. I also had years of Instagram Christmases in my married days, back when I had a ‘family’ life. So, I’ve been working at this company for nearly a Grinch Christmas Shirt, Guess Who’s Back Christmas Shirt copy from January. I needed a job as was being made redundant and this popped up so I took it, it’s a night shift but work is work. I was struck as I had not been approached or invited to it, what makes it worse is as there has been a boom in work lately they have took on about 6 new people about 3 months ago and they have all been added to the guess list and they class each other now as “family” while I’m stuck covering the guys shift and I was told I need to have the on call phone over Christmas because he has a family?! Well so do I!!!

Among my duties was to keep seasonal decorations up to date. In this huge store that meant everything from designing window murals on glass to puppet displays in the Grinch Christmas Shirt, Guess Who’s Back Christmas Shirt copy and decorations hung from the ceiling. Well the signwriter went away and came back with stencils he’d cut of the scene and asked me if he could use them for other clients. I said yes, that year Santa on the beach became very popular!
