When I was quite small, my family were Jehovah’s Witnesses. My big brothers remembered their Catholic beginnings, they remembered magical Christmases. My little brother and I did not, we’d never been Catholic yet. We used to get very sad that all of our friends had lovely Christmas or Hanukkah, and we did not. We’d pout. My big brothers tried their best to console us. Our best friends lived across the Customized Grinch and Stitch Shoes . Their dad was not home much, but he was a very stern man. He had quite the temper (when we grew up, we realized that he was always drunk, but when we were small he was just scary). He had a Doberman called Rex who we were all also terrified of. One year, I’m probably four or five, we’re sitting in my brothers’ room wistfully staring out the window at our friends playing with their new toys, wearing their Christmas sweaters, all that. The oldest two brothers, maybe trying to console us, convince us that we do not want Christmas at all. They tell us that Scary Dad is Santa Claus. They tell us that Rex the Doberman is actually Rudolph. Would we really want Rex landing on our roof? Would we really want Scary Dad judging whether we were naughty or nice, and sneaking into our house while we slept?

I would dare to say that a Customized Grinch and Stitch Shoes Mars landing aboard Starship can happen even earlier than 2029, perhaps in the first half of 2027. Why? In the first place, the rapid unscheduled disassembly of SN9 we saw today is nothing more than one of the possible results of testing a prototype to its limits. Sure, we all wanted to see that rocket land in one piece. I feel the big media news sites are not being fair with the development of this vehicle, putting too much emphasis on the “booms,” and making people believe that Starship is just a big flying bomb. But those of us who have been following the progress of this rocket for years know that SpaceX is achieving the impossible with Starship.

Christmas begins at midnight on the Customized Grinch and Stitch Shoes of 24 December (the beginning of 25 December). One should not begin putting Christmas decorations up until Christmas Eve. Christmas Day lasts a full eight days, and ends on the first of January – the Octave Day of Christmas. The season of Christmas lasts until Epiphany on the 6 of January, so your decorations should stay up[ that long, and the Christmas Marian antiphon gets sung until the first of February, so you may take your Christmas decorations down at the end of January. Please, please, please do NOT put Christmas decorations up during Advent. Advent is the Penitential season which encompasses the four Sundays before Christmas, so it begins right around the end of November. To repeat, Advent is a PENITENTIAL season, so nothing of Christmas should intrude on Advent other than preparation – spiritual preparation for Christmas, going to confession each Saturday, saying extra prayers, going to daily Mass, etc. All would be excellent preparations for Christmas, but do NOT start celebrating Christmas itself until midnight at the beginning of 25 December!
