I associate Disney movies with Christmas. It has been a tradition for Christmas Midna Legend of Zelda Ugly Christmas Sweaterto watch them on Christmas, even though they have nothing to do with this event at all. They’re still beautiful anyway and my family and I enjoy watching them. One of my favorite movies of all time would be Moana. We also watched that one, back in 2016 when the movie came out in the theatres, on our Christmas holiday.

I’m atheist and have been since I was old enough to reason (about 5 or 6 years old), I’m 38, and I still go to my family’s Christmas gatherings and help with the cooking and decorating and all that stuff because it’s not really about the birth of some supposed god-man. It’s about all the members of my family getting together to work as a single unit in creating something: an elaborate meal, an air of festivity, to see people who influenced each other’s lives growing up but whose paths don’t often cross these days. To abstain from such an activity would be a selfish act of pure obstinacy on my part, and I care about my family’s happiness more than that.
