Christmas Golf On the naughty list and I regret nothing T shirt
I knew a family that gave the one child actual coal in their stocking and no presents to teach the child something. The child watched other children in the family have a great Xmas. When they learned a year or two later that mom and dad were Santa, the child became so resentful that they would treat her like that. Eventually, she started lying, stealing and running away at the age of twelve. She still hasn’t got over the heart of rejection. So my advice is don’t use Santa has a means of punishment. Now Santa might leave a letter for her a few days before Xmas saying that he was disappointed that she had been misbehaving, but that he knows she will try harder and that she had been pretty good in the past, so he will be bringing her a Christmas Golf On the naughty list and I regret nothing T shirt this year and he hopes that she will try hard to behave. Sometimes children will have heard from another child that there might not be a Santa, or someone in the family may have told them Santa wouldn’t come because they were bad. The acting out could just be their anxiety about Xmas – the pressure is getting to them.

So you’ve got to be wondering how often is there a train wreck? Well you hear about the ones in urban areas because the train companies can’t conceal the event – too many witnesses. But most wrecks occur out in the middle of nowhere between cities in the big expanse of farmland and ranch land. The train companies have agreements with media companies to not cover these wrecks. I saw a blurb on the 5:00 news one night and it wasn’t there on the 6:00 or 10:00 news. And it was because the news team just happened to be driving by the wreck in the middle of nowhere and got film. But the story was buried. Never a mention again in any local media. Well, in New Mexico, which has a lot of empty space as the fifth largest state, there are two train companies running freight lines – Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific. I was contracted to BNSF and I know the UP had the same record. There was a train wreck an average of once every three weeks with the BNSF. This is the mother of pileups every month. The response time to the middle of nowhere is about 15 to 20 minutes, and we’d have a crew out to begin repairs within four hours and have the track cleared and operational again within 12 hours. That included bulldozers and giant loaders and excavators just pushing the wrecked cars and engines to the sides, rebuilding the track bed and laying new track and ties together with ballast. Later we’d clear the wreckage completely and haul all the cargo to a landfill for a Christmas Golf On the naughty list and I regret nothing T shirt of goods. The train companies, being completely self-insured would simply write a check to their customer for the value of the goods. This happened every three weeks. That’s a lot of checks written for new goods that just got buried in landfills just because it was in a wreck. Not damaged, just present in the event.

Bob Marley One of the first shows I ever worked on. This was at the Santa Barbara Bowl. There was a downstairs dressing area and instead of using a catering service he and the Wailers brought their own people, I assume from Jamaica. They didn’t want any white people to touch the food only their crew, this was for religious reasons. I recall that they ground up coconut and sort of battered some fish with this and grilled it. Bob was much shorter and smaller than I imagined and as I am not too tall he was about my size. He had an intimidating look and I was young and for some reason felt a bit intimidated by him. Great show and boy did he and his crew/band smoke the weed. This was the one and only show I worked with Bob. Little River Band.. Nothing much to recall, seemed nice. Black Sabbath/Blue Oyster Cult-Ventura Fairgrounds. Well, I don’t like this kind of music but they were surprisingly nice and friendly. I doubt anyone will remember a band called “Honk” but they were from Laguna Beach and did the soundtrack for a surfing movie called “Five Summer Stories”. They were very laid-back, down-to-earth and a [[Christmas Golf On the naughty list and I regret nothing T shirt]] to work with. They played a UCSB stadium show with The Beach Boys.

As part of the solstice celebrations, the pagan cultures decorated their homes with greens in anticipation of the spring to come. Evergreen trees remained green during the coldest and darkest days, so they were thought to hold special powers. The Romans also decorated their temples with fir trees during Saturnalia and decorated them with bits of metal. There are even records of the Greeks decorating trees in honor of their gods. Interestingly, the first trees brought into the pagan homes were hung from the ceiling, upside down. The tree tradition we are accustomed to today hails from Northern Europe, where Germanic pagan tribes decorated evergreen trees in worship of the god Woden with candles and dried fruit. The tradition was incorporated into the Christian faith in Germany during the 1500’s. They decorated trees in their homes with sweets, lights, and toys. The giving of gifts at Christmas dates back to the time of Christ’s birth. The relevance of the gift giving tradition on Christmas day is reminiscent and a representation of the tributes that three Magi – who symbolise, according to Christian tradition – gave to the infant Jesus in the manger. The Magi, (there wise men), gave Jesus gold, frankincense and myrrh, when they understood that the baby they were looking at was both human and the son of God. This relevance of the exchanging of a gift to each other at Christmas time was too symbolise and celebrate the Christmas Golf On the naughty list and I regret nothing T shirt mentioned on Christmas Day. Not what it has turned into today at Christmas.

Tucson is smack in the middle of the vast Sonoran Desert, and as such, it is a land of extremes. My first impression of Tucson was terrible: my partner and I went for a drive the day after we arrived. We drove north on Stone Avenue in late June. The sun was unbearably hot, the city was at its yearly low ebb of population, with the university students and snowbirds gone. What we saw was a lone tumbleweed bouncing across the road in a dusty hot wind and a very intoxicated middle-aged couple stumbling down the sidewalk. My partner was the first to speak: “You know–we don’t have to STAY here. We can get right back in the rental truck and just keep going.” We didn’t, of course. Well–she did, after we split up 3 years later. But that’s another story. Yes, Tucson can be lethal, or at least hazardous. Property crime is high, particularly in the urban area. I had my cars broken into, my garage, and my house burgled. Illicit drug use is rampant in areas. There is evidence of title cartel violence. There are many species that pose a threat, such as black widow spiders, rattlesnakes, scorpions, centipedes, gila monsters, etc. Even “jumping” cholla cactus can ensnare you and make you wish you were anywhere else. The economy is a patchwork. It is a VERY difficult place to launch a business, and this I can tell you from my own experience. Thankfully, that (eventually) turned out well.
