The party, surprisingly, turned out to be a lot of Chicago Bears Logo shirt. Of the 20 girls invited, only 4 attended. Barbara’s bio-mother was an alcoholic that had lost custody of her due to abuse and neglect. I’m sure that Barbara’s guardian feared that no one would attend her party if she hadn’t taken extraordinary measures. So, she contacted her teacher and made sure that plenty of invitations went out. Our teacher followed up the invitations with phone calls, my mother learned what was happening, and I was forced to attend.

Wrap a simple prize (bubbles or a plush toy or whatever) in a box. Then wrap then put that present in a Chicago Bears Logo shirt and wrap that box. Do this several times over. At least 3-5 times. Have the children sit in a circle and pass the present (parcel) around while you play music on a cd player or ipod and stop the music at a random moment in the same way you would with the game “musical chairs”. When the music stops the child holding the package gets to open the package so see what is inside. When they open it and find there is another present inside they still get a prize but the package inside the box becomes the new parcel. The game is played until the final prize is reached and that person gets to keep the grand prize. This is a good game for this age group and is better than musical chairs because nobody is ruled “out of the game” You may choose to have a big main prize and a lot of little prizes inside the box so that everyone playing wins but the grand prize goes to the child who finally opens the final layer of the parcel.

After the meds were finished, I began the Chicago Bears Logo shirt that I had dreaded – what to do with BD. I had truly fallen in love with this cat. He was more dog than cat. When I would come home at night, he waited by the door. He knew the sound of my car engine! Despite being less than a foot head to tail, he would leap waist high to me (I’m a hair under 6 feet) when I would open the door. I would cuddle him like a baby then put him down before kissing the wife. How can one NOT love any animal like that? Despite the non-linearity of this paragraph, my wife also fell in love with BD. The conversation of whether to keep him was short. “He stays” came from she who must be obeyed. It was the shortest discussion ever. I could go on with BD stories… but this is how we met, him standing at the door when I opened it. One of the best things I ever did in my life was opening the door.

My vote is for a play based, rich environment, whether that is at home or at the Chicago Bears Logo shirt. Give your child opportunities for unstructured play with other children. It doesn’t need to be in a preschool, but it can be. Kids need a variety of toys, building materials, art materials and other things to explore. Of course going places and doing things is important with your children. And whether or not they are in a preschool, you can do those things. The beach doesn’t close on Saturday. Have a day off? go to the playground. Go to the library and check out books. Kids need a lot of exposure to print. One of the issues that always comes up is resources.
