A fundamental premise of physics is that the Cat It Is What It Is Shirt are the same everywhere. That implies whatever initial conditions led to life as we know it will almost certainly occur elsewhere. Only a few years ago, we had no evidence there were even extrasolar planets. Now we know there are thousands relatively nearby, so it looks like our solar system is somewhat typical for stars like ours and that our star is for better or worse, utterly typical. Ergo there are billions of planets out there in our galaxy alone. The argument that we are the only sentient beings because we haven’t heard from any others is (of course) theoretically possible, but highly unlikely. Given the argument above, it’s far more likely the universe is literally teeming with life at various stages of evolution. But even in our little corner of the Milky Way, we don’t hear from them because they are just too damn far away. One light year is 9.46×10^15 meters. None of our own random EM radiation so far would be more than (say) a thousand watts/m^2 at its origin and most of it far less than that. A fraction of that would actually make it out into space where it would just spread out in a spherical wave front. Let’s assume for giggles that it all does and that our alien buddies are also shouting randomly at the cosmos at roughly the same volume (power output).

Best Cat It Is What It Is Shirt
Now, lets get to the positives, and a lot of this come from the second half of the Cat It Is What It Is Shirt. There is no better, or cuter place to begin than with Baby Groot, who is again played by Vin Diesel. Yes after Groot sacraficed his life for his friends in Guardians Vol. 1, he now has respwaned a baby. And yes, whilst I thought he was a liability to the team, he was cute in certain moments. I loved in the first battle when he was dancing, whilst the rest of the Guardians were being thrown around and destroyed. I liked it when he yelled in the Rocket/Yondu escape scene. But probably my favourite moment with Baby Groot- was when he was taking the bomb to Ego’s brain and started crying like a baby when the walls started to close in on themselves. That was just perfect. They never overused Baby Groot which was good, and I am really excited for Teenager Groot in Avengers: Infinity War, because he was amazing in the post credits scenes. Mantis, played by Pom Klementieff, was perfect. She seems like a good addition to the Guardians. Her power set was quite interesting and I loved her dynamic with Drax majority of the time. She was also quite funny and brought about some of the truly funny moments of the film. Her costume and look was perfect to the comics. Well done James Gunn.
