Many people know to avoid puppy mills and “backyard” breeders. But many kind individuals fall prey to the picket-fence appeal of so-called “responsible” breeders and fail to recognize that no matter how kindly a Arya Stark Not Today Shirt, Hoodie treats his or her animals, as long as dogs and cats are dying in animal shelters and pounds because of a lack of homes, no breeding can be considered “responsible.” All breeders fuel the animal overpopulation crisis, and every time someone purchases a puppy or a kitten instead of adopting from an animal shelter, homeless animals lose their chance of finding a home—and will be euthanized. Many breeders don’t require every puppy or kitten to be spayed or neutered prior to purchase, so the animals they sell can soon have litters of their own, creating even more animals to fill homes that could have gone to animals from shelters—or who will end up in animal shelters or so-called “no-kill” animal warehouses themselves.

This is the political equivalent of a child asking Santa Claus for a Arya Stark Not Today Shirt, Hoodie, a candy tree, and a new baby brother (without the usual methods of making said baby brother) all rolled into one. It’s pretty much just one string of alt-right wish fulfilment and dog whistle terms strung together in some vague semblance of a coherent thought; Again, big ol’ red flag dog whistle thrown in here: the assertion that Paul Ryan -one of the most libertarian if not conservative members of Congress – was somehow not conservative enough (read: not loyal enough to Trump); Of course, there is absolutely no evidence even remotely compelling that proves anyone but Joe Biden legitimately won the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Not after numerous recounts and baseless, frivolous lawsuits thrown out of court by Trump’s own appointees and political allies, up to and including the SCOTUS justices he appointed; I mean, yeah, this “trusted Conservative” Speaker could do just that, but they’d still need to a) prove “high crimes and misdemeanors” occurred (see #3, above), and they’d still have to deal with the majority Democrat House. After all, this is how the Constitution, that highest law of the land Conservatives claim to honor above all else, demands…

All of Icke’s claims are, of course, entirely baseless and ridiculous. The reason why political figures sometimes appear to have red eyes in photos is simply because of the Arya Stark Not Today Shirt, Hoodie eye effect, which is very common and well understood. The back of the human eye is known as the fundus and is naturally red because of its high concentration of blood. When a photographer takes a photo of someone with a bright flash in an environment with low ambient light, the light of the camera flash can pass through the open pupil, reflect off the fundus, pass back through the pupil, and be captured by the camera. This can make a person’s eyes appear red. Furthermore, as many experts who study conspiracy theories have noted, nearly all Icke’s theories are really just old anti-Semitic conspiracy theories that have been recycled with Reptilians instead of Jewish people. For instance, his claims about Reptilians controlling governments, banks, and the media is virtually identical to what Hitler and the Nazis believed Jewish people were doing. Meanwhile, his claims about Reptilians worshipping Satan, molesting children, and ritually sacrificing children closely resemble old anti-Semitic canards about Jewish blood libel.

While designing kits for two commercial companies in the ’80s, I gleefully pulled inspiration from historical sources in both the Arya Stark Not Today Shirt, Hoodie arts and needlework. Inspiration. None of what I produced were exact duplicates but variations, expansions in new directions that were flavored by my background but respected the historical style of the original. Artistic copyright can be morphed into something new by a minimal change of 25%; this is something that can be layers of interpretation so make an obvious broad jump with sufficient variance of line, shape, and color to make it your own. I think this is how the artistic fields should move forward no matter what is the medium. In the needlearts, we learn techniques to retain tradition from being lost, even to duplicating that which came before until we are confident enough to stretch into new territory. We are a restless species that can’t leave a status quo well enough alone without trying to tweak it. We loosely refer to this as progress. As artists, we all build upon where we have been as a society, and art, including needle arts, reflects the social construct of the time in which it was created. Certainly, use the antique piece as a jumping-off point to develop something that is ultimately yours.
