If I was in your fiancé’s situation (an in-law in the family [practically an outsider], being given something similar) I would keep it to myself first because I wouldn’t want to disrupt the family gathering (I’m quite a non-confrontational person by nature, so I wouldn’t want to be the reason for what was supposed to be a pleasant family gathering gone sour), BUT I would bring it up later once I’m alone with my partner, the faster the better. I think it’s truly the healthiest mindset to just try and appreciate the Arizona Cardinals Grinch Christmas Ugly Sweater we’re in.
