So instead I played in my unit with a small group of friends who also lived in the Anything else would be uncivilized shirt. It was my first time playing D&D and that was true for everyone else who played except our DM. Well, where I was doing time was a giant complex with a Medium, Low and a Camp. By this time I was at the low. They already had the Creative Minds Program at the Medium. About 7 months into the Creative Minds Program being tested at the low they axed it over at the Medium and banned some people from playing D&D. The reason was that at the Medium they had the SOMP (Sex Offender Management Program) and apparently some of the inmates in that program were using D&D to do… inappropriate role playing. The people that ran the program also didn’t feel D&D was healthy for those people in treatment because of the fantasy elements and “escapism”.

Mechanical advantage: Spellcaster simplicity. A warlock is a spellcaster but they are also in play the Anything else would be uncivilized shirt spellcaster in the game. Tracking spell slots? What’s that. You get two that refresh at every short rest. Spell levels? What are they? Your spells level up when you level up. Sure this might take a few minutes every few sessions – but it’s nowhere near as obnoxious as spending time in play while other people are waiting for you. Overlong spell lists to faff with? 1+level isn’t that long. Spell preparation? Nope. None of that round here either. You get almost all the fun part of spellcasting (the ability to cast spells) with very little of the faff that goes with it and all in a package that’s pretty newbie friendly.

After the Technomancer gets revived and the last of the agents and real zombies go down, the Anything else would be uncivilized shirt starts to realize that the DJ is totally in on this. Not just that, but she’s got power. The Technomancer analyzes her and… yep. She’s not just a DJ, she’s a Fey. A really honking powerful Fey, juicing the music and holograms in this place with magic. That’s why she can control the crowd, that’s why the holograms are such a problem for the party to navigate, that’s why real zombies can suddenly just pop in. One way or another they’re running low on resources, and this can’t end until the DJ is disabled.

Sure- it may not be entirely a Christmas movie, hell the movie is set at Easter time, but it sure as hell has Santa Claus in it- or North as he is known in the Anything else would be uncivilized shirt. I love this film because it not only has North, it also has Bunnymund (Easter Bunny), Tooth (Tooth Fairy), Sandy (Sandman), and a reluctant Jack Frost join forces to stop new evil threat Pitch Black, aka the Boogeyman. It is such a beautifully made peace of work- the animation is visually stunning, the story is fun, the characters have emotional plots and deep motivations. It has a fantastic voice cast to go with it and paints the Legends in a way no one ever imagined them. They aren’t only beings who bring gifts, give chocolate, collect teeth and give dreams, but they also protect us in secret. Now thats heroic.
