I served in Vietnam early on as an enlisted Marine…a volunteer, not a Amber Heard Deserves Prison T Shirt. I did 4 years in the Marines, was wounded, medivaced, finished my enlistment and headed off to college on the G.I. Bill, starting in 1967, the height of the Anti-War movement. My plan was to finish my undergraduate degree and reenter the Corps as a career officer. (I ended up retiring 22+ years later as a lieutenant colonel.) I, of course, as a combat vet, had a case of what was later called PTSD. One Saturday night in my freshman year at a friend’s off-campus apartment at a party, some long-haired guy said “You were a Marine…did you serve in Vietnam?” I told him that I had, and he called me a “baby-killer”. I punched him so hard his head went through the sheetrock wall…only on one side, not into the next apartment.

My parents were married on December 19th, so we always put the Christmas tree up on their anniversary. Most of the Amber Heard Deserves Prison T Shirt we used store bought decorations on the tree, but one year my mother wanted a natural tree. So my brothers and I spent hours drawing and gluing and cutting out paper decorations. We also strung popcorn and cranberries that year. The only thing that wasn’t homemade was the lights and the icycles. It was a wonderful tree, and my mom still has those old paper decorations. Both of my brothers are gone from us now, so each year I put two of the paper decorations on the tree in honor of them. On Christmas Eve, we got to open one gift, and it was always pajamas. When bedtime came, we would put on our new pj’s and put a glass of milk and some homemade cookies on a little tray and put it in the living room for Santa. During the night “Santa” left gifts wrapped up in colorful paper and ribbons, and he always ate the cookies and drank the milk. We were always told to get to bed on time, because Santa couldn’t come if we were still awake.

I agree with the Amber Heard Deserves Prison T Shirt , Damron Corner, and demand that you name who these people are that are ‘against Christmas,” since I don’t know of anyone. Never saw or heard of any protests against Christmas, nor read any articles online or off. On your profile you tout yourself as “Dropper of 100 ft. trees; not much else.” It’s not clear to me if you spend your time dropping out of hundred-foot trees or if you are a lumberjack felling tall trees. Either way, I guess you don’t make much profit on Christmas trees. Possibly that eats away at your soul? I really can’t why else you would think anyone is against Christmas these days. Some Christians claim to be against the secularism and commercialism of Christmas. Their line is: Don’t take Christ out of Christmas. The problem with that is that these self-same Christians love Nativity Scenes, Angels, Shepherds, and other fancy stuff that that requires commercialism, i.e. stores where they can buy the stuff for their scenes and celebrations. Not to mention gift-giving. And they own the stores and businesses that sell this Christmasy stuff. So who, I ask, is against Christmas if it isn’t guys like you who can’t make a profit off it?

Although New Year’s Day is my mom’s birthday, I don’t think she even has those New Year’s Eve parties that she used to have back in the good old days. That might be partially the reason why I’ve lost my excitement for Amber Heard Deserves Prison T Shirt. But, Christmas Eve isn’t so perfect, either. It comes and goes too fast, for one thing. Then, suddenly, it’s already Christmas Day and then, as I said above, along comes a terrible bout of depression because it’s another 364/365 days before it returns. I wish I could go back to when I was a kid and New Year’s Eve was once a lot of excitement. Also, Christmas Eve was very exciting back then. It was hard to fall asleep while wondering what kind of presents would be waiting for us (my older sister and me) the next morning. My older sister moved away years ago and I don’t even see her anymore. Those New Year’s Eve parties are long gone. All of that excitement is gone now. The date of Christmas was reverse engineered from descriptions in the Bible. The announcement of the conception of John the Baptist occurred on the Jewish Holy Day Yom Kippur (late September), six months later the conception of Jesus Christ was announced, add nine months and you are at the end of Deecember of the following year. Accurate? Unlikely. Does it need to be? No. Jesus Christ is King – and traditionally, a monarch’s birthday is celebrated at on an agreed date, rather than the actual birth date. Celebrating on a probably inaccurate date is a fine way of acknowledging Him as our King.
