December 1st: Love Actually (2003) – The film is a look at the subject of love in its many forms and a sign of its brilliance is that it can tell so many stories without losing any coherence. There is the story of the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) that falls in love with his caterer (Martine McCutcheon), the story of the aging rocker (Bill Nighy) and his fraternal love for his manager (Gregor Fisher), the story of the young stepson of a recent widower (Liam Neeson) who has fallen in love with a classmate, the love of a tested marriage (Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman), and on and on. One scene that involves a Joni Mitchell CD should have resulted in a best supporting actress Oscar for Emma Thompson. If you don’t feel her character’s pain, you have no heart. December 2nd: Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love (2016) – A sequel to the Coat of Many Colors, this film adapts stories from Dolly’s own childho

Hubby’s father was the cook in the house, so he went to the kitchen, and is quite deaf so couldn’t hear the ensuing fight. Hubby went at it with him mom about how unfair it was of her to treat the 4 of us that way especially me. What had I ever done to her to get her to turn on me like that?!! His sister agreed, it wasn’t fair and was embarrassing to her and her hubby to have to sit through such a one sided christmas. Her answer? I was from a “dirty farming family, farmers are dirty and what would people think of her?” So this explained why things got worse over time. So as the argument escalated FIL came out of the kitchen to see what was wrong to see MIL crying and hubby tried to explain. SIL suddenly changed her story and came to her mother’s defense. Hubby was furious! He came down to check on me and told me what had just happened as I could hear the yelling. I asked him if we could just leave, he said he had to think about it. I skipped christmas dinner that night. Kept the kids with me. SIL felt guilty and brought me food. I told her it was not her fault what happened and refused to take the food because all I wanted to do was vomit. That night hubby comes to bed and tells me we would get up early and All I Want For Christmas Is A Cure For My Grandson Diabetes Awareness T shirt leave before anyone else was up. I felt good about that and the tension in my stomach started to relax. He said to me that all the incidents over they years, as they got worse and worse, he believed me but couldn’t believe his mother could be so cruel. Once he saw his mother in action he knew it to be far worse that I had let him know, even though I had always told him the truth.

Maybe that’s why I just love Santa, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas decor, Christmas Trees and Christmas MUSIC! Cause we never really had it…though my parents always had Xmas music on as we lit Hanukkah candles and opened Hanukkah presents. Haha. We never had stockings, or left cookies out for Santa, cause he passed over our house. Blah and ugh. Yea, as kids we were a little resentful of that. sighs. I remember once as a little kid my mom took me to the mall to get my pic with Santa and when he asked me (this little blonde hair blue eyed girl) what I wanted for Xmas I looked at him and I started crying. I said I am Jewish… think I yelled at him…you don’t ever come to my house. And, he looked at me like so confused and lost…the $10 dollar an hour Santa was at a loss for words, not sure what to say to me…..I held on to his arm and I begged him to come to our house just this one time. My mom had to pull me away. He seemed relieved however, he did promise me he would come. And that year we left cookies out for him (in the shape of Jewish stars and Dreidels) and carrots on the lawn for the All I Want For Christmas Is A Cure For My Grandson Diabetes Awareness T shirt. And what do you know, he actually did come to my house…. I will say I was so so happy. sighs oh the joys of being a child.

As I write this, there are already 7 answers, and they each describe a very different city. Several have clearly had bad experiences with changes that have taken place here over time. I’ve lived in Santa Fe for over 20 years now – but for reference, I grew up in what is now Silicon Valley when it was still orchards – talk about change!! So I’m pretty sanguine about change, considering it as a natural phenomenon, especially in attractive places to live. And Santa Fe is attractive. It is a small city nestled in the mountains at about 7200 ft. altitude. It has abundant hiking and skiing in the winter. There are 7 Native American pueblos nearby with ongoing input into the culture. The architecture in much of the city is low adobe pueblo-style contruction, so it has a very different “look” as a All I Want For Christmas Is A Cure For My Grandson Diabetes Awareness T shirt. People visiting are often surprised that we have many trees and a lot of vegetation. They expect a desert, which it is not. Gardening is big here. Weather is moderate – never gets too hot (a bit in June before the summer rains start)because the altitude always cools things off at night. Winter snow is infrequent and generally melts off in a day. The air is among the cleanest in the country. The other big things in the city are art and science and food. There are 250 art galleries in this little town (about 75-80,000 population). That is more galleries per capita than anyplace in the world. It is the 3rd largest art center (by volume of sales) in the United States. Because of the way it developed – with Native American, Western and landscape art at its early core, though it now has huge numbers of contempor

The first thing a modern person would notice is vast clouds of All I Want For Christmas Is A Cure For My Grandson Diabetes Awareness T shirt of cigarette smoke everywhere, but especially thick on airplanes. The minority of people who do not smoke in the ’60s are constantly subjected to endless clouds of sickening second-hand smoke. People will walk right into your living room and ask, “Where is the ashtray?” I know because neither I nor anyone in my family smoked. There would be lots more trash on the side of roads not to mention millions of cigarette butts. There would be many stray dogs. There would be very few people from Asia except in isolated communities. There are a lot fewer cars. They would not meet anyone from India or Pakistan. Gasoline would be incredibly cheap as low as 24 cents a gallon.
