His issues are due to inbreeding. He’s almost doubled his weight in the last month since I got him (he eats like a pig!), he has learned the layout of the house (clever kitty!), he’s very cuddly and sweet, but still gets the ‘kitten crazies’ and loves to chase a crumpled up wad of paper around. I spend a lot of time finding it for him when he loses sight of it. His hearing is insanely good though. My older cat isn’t very enamored of him but she seems to be slowly getting used to him.
