I was attacked by my UberX driver during the early morning hours on June 3, 2015. Prior to calling an Uber, my friend and I visited a bar in Koreatown. When it was time to leave, I called an Uber to come get me. My friend waited with me and when the Uber arrived he Trust me I watch live PD I’m Basically a cop shirt. I gave my driver my home address (I live in the general area around Mid-City LA) and assumed he was taking me home. I had gotten little sleep the night before. As a result, I dozed off during the drive. While I slept, my driver drove from Koreatown to the city of Gardena. The area was dark and isolated.

I awoke to my driver crawling on top of me. He was unzipping my pants. I squirmed and told him to get Trust me I watch live PD I’m Basically a cop shirt. He ignored my initial demands and continued to try and kiss me and to reach under my shirt. Eventually, I managed to push him off and I screamed that I was calling the police. He said he hadn’t done anything wrong and that he would also be calling the police. I called 911 – crying – and begged for help. The police arrived and asked me for details. The way the officers proceeded to treat me was as traumatic as the situation I had just experienced with the driver.

First, they asked if I could call someone to take me home. I said no. It was very late and I told them that I had called them for help. Then they asked me to Trust me I watch live PD I’m Basically a cop shirt. As a woman in her thirties, I found it absurd to be told to call my mom and dad. But I just asked again why they couldn’t take me home. They asked me for my age and address and also asked me “why are you out so far ?” Flustered (I had already told them what occurred), I asked if I could try calling another cab. They said no.

They then said that they would have to take me to the police station if no one could come get me. I began calling my friends with the hope that one of them would be available to pick me up. I didn’t understand why the officers wouldn’t take me home. They never explained that to Trust me I watch live PD I’m Basically a cop shirt. Eventually, I got my roommate on the phone. The officers told her that if they took me home they would have to handcuff me since I might be a danger to them. I offered them my purse, patted my pockets, and insisted that there was no reason to handcuff me and that I wasn’t a danger to them.

I don’t know what I can do other than share my story. I’m a huge proponent of ride share systems. I’ll probably continue to use them again in addition to Trust me I watch live PD I’m Basically a cop shirt. However, I can’t stress my levels of disgust and anger with this individual’s behavior and with the way I was treated by Gardena PD.
