I have been a nurse in the No I’m not your nurse shirt and I can say that things have never been this bad- workloads have vastly increased, less and less staff as people leave, retire or long term sick and not replaced. Less resources, less money- having to find efficiency savings all the time. More and more paperwork, bureaucracy and training taking up what little time we have. Been a nurse for 14 years. Loved No I’m not your nurse shirt, went to London and got my eyes opened to how bad it is. Was so miserable in my final year I quit as I couldn’t take it anymore. Came back to northern Ireland only to be told that I didn’t get a job and all the students had got the jobs? How does that happen? I don’t need trained and have gained tons of experience in London and yet no job. Nursing is also full of bullies which is disgusting in a caring job.
