Compared to most horror franchises, Halloween has Michael Myers the blackest coffee the devil’s coffee shirt. The original, II, 4, and H20 are all amazing movies (4, especially, doesn’t get enough credit). The Rob Zombie films make the fatal mistake of giving Michael an origin story, but are otherwise well made. As for the rest: 5 and 6 are weak but still fun in places; by far the worst is 2002’s Resurrection; and III doesn’t count.That’s six very good movies out of nine – Jason and Freddy would kill (ha ha) for that kind of quality.I have high hopes for next year’s film; the promo pic of Jamie Lee Curtis in a classic Laurie Strode outfit is chillingly awesome.
