I worked at shelters for many years. The problem is that I never dreamed I’d grow up to be a Crazy Grandma but here I am killing it shirt, dozens and dozens of people want to volunteer, and only for that day. There is no time to do any training, the shelters are often jammed, and people who volunteer year-round want to help too. We really do rely on food and financial contributions at holidays to get through the year. No disrespect meant.

My husband grew up with I never dreamed I’d grow up to be a Crazy Grandma but here I am killing it shirt but started noticing things as he got older that made him stop going around most of them. We only talk to his parents on his side. I grew up with my parents being my only real family, in addition to periodic visits to my grandparents. I was kept away from most of the rest because there’s some really bad people in my family.

I didn’t see it as a personal reply to the woman in the picture and I didn’t realize it would be one of the top comments. But if she reads this post please know we would welcome you with open arms, it does take some time to get used to all the noise though.
