Freedom shirt

My husband served two different times in Viet Nam. He is one of the fortunate ones that Freedom shirt and sound. We are so blessed and thank God for him and all the others who did their part to keep our country safe. They were not treated right but – like the rest of history, we can’t change that now, just try to make amends. Thank you Judge Caprio for being so compassionate.

As I watch a Memorial Day parade in San Antonio and hear the host tell the Freedom shirt, “thank you for your service” I have to wonder why so many are confused about what exactly we are celebrating. Or should I say, recognizing and honoring? Are people notbeing taught in school what this holiday is about since it takes place right after school is out for the year.

It is true Memorial Day is a day to remember and show honor to those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in all branches of the military. HOWEVER, there is never a wrong or inappropriate day to thank and/or show appreciation to an active duty serviceman/woman, retired Veteran
