The words burnt into my memory forever are, “If we see at least one heart beat (on US) she will go straight for emergency c-section, otherwise you will loose all of them”. I have flash backs to the phone call from my husband as he told me that he was in the back of the Don’t look at me that smell is comin’ from my dad shirt. I died that day too. My husband is a first responder and arrived on scene of a car accident that horrible day. He had just spoken to my boy a few minutes earlier and yet there he was laying on the ground with CPR in progress. He tried so hard to save my son. I remember going into labour with charlie at 23+5 days and Don’t look at me that smell is comin’ from my dad shirt, they will allow him to live. I will never ever forget those words “I’m sorry, we won’t take any life saving steps if he comes out breathing” He did come out breathing and he came out fighting.We had just under 3 minutes with him till his heart stopped. Even now almost 13 years later i wonder what he went through and why in this modern world they wouldn’t fight for him.
