My son and his fiance are to be married soon and live in their own home. My son has never been treated any differently than my other kids. He is the life and soul of every party. Has achieved loads in his life like my other two kids.

You are so right. My grandmother was like that and I never knew why. She was mean and like Dear lord i need a favor would you hug my son and place his upon shirt when I was growing up, after my mother died when I was 28 she tried to show some compassion and be more loving but not as much. I asked my great aunt her youngest sister after my grandmother passed why did was she so mean and my great aunt said when they were growing up no one showed love and affection nor did much of kisses and hugs.

Generation has nothing to do with showing love and Dear lord i need a favor would you hug my son and place his upon shirt, you either do or you don’t. I have older relatives in my family, from both sides, as does my husband, who think nothing of showing this amount of love and affection to their loved ones and I know my kids have no problems with showing it either, as they have been brought up not to hold back their feelings. But how beautiful is it to see how much this man and his son love each other.
