Each dachshund is an individual so please lets not make generalizations. I had a smooth red dachshund female for 17 wonderful years! She loved my children as if they were her own. I currently have two dachshund mixes that I rescued and they have many of the same traits as a purebred – smart, funny, sassy, bold, loving and loyal. Will always be my favorite breed.
