My nearly three year old just got his flu shot today. I told him what was going to happen, why it needed to happen, & talked him through it. He cried when he realized he’d gotten the shot, maybe three seconds after it’d happened. I picked him up, told him that it was okay to cry and be upset. We told him that the nurse hadn’t meant to hurt him and Dachshund Sleep Nope Not Today Shirt gave him a sticker. He got through it very well. We went to Olive Garden afterwards and he got a little dessert so that undoubtedly helped.

Kudos to this daddy for doing such a good job. It used to take several of Dachshund Sleep Nope Not Today Shirt to hold my then toddler down for shots. We described her as a “needle phobic”. Fast forward 13 years and she is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She has given HERSELF the shots since day one. You never know the twists our babies lives will take.
