As a society, we colloquially use “itis” to denote an exaggeration of a problem; but this is a little absurd. It would have behoved them to extrapolate an acronym (e.g. HIV, AIDS, SARS, ARDS, VAP, etc). that better describes the condition rather than muddy the waters of an already difficult arena of medicine.

Meh, I’ve seen the worst form of this addiction while working with several different construction and demolition crews. These guys would be trying to pic up ladies through various dating sites and when the woman wanted a current pic, these guys they would slip into one of the skiddo-cans and snap the selfie inside so the boss wouldn’t see them goldbrickin.
