I have a question about this. I was taught growing up in school to place hand over heart for the Basketball In My Heart Heart Beatketball Shirt, but to stand at attention and sing along for the anthem. Something along the lines of we are making a pledge to country in the pledge, not the anthem. I have read where others of various ages were taught something similar. Current flag code does say hand over heart for both, so did this change somewhere along the way?
