My wife and I are going to make an “icecream pudding” in a few minutes, too – I can provide the recipe for anyone in the comments, too, if you want to try it, it’s a slightly-adapted Jamie Oliver recipe – to go along with the rest of the food. Most of what we’ll eat will be cold – prawns, oysters, cold ham, cold chicken, salads, and such.
Occasionally, there have been roast hams and so on, but the challenge there is that you need to buy the ham before you know what the temperature will be on the day. Putting the oven on during a heatwave is not fun. We do, however, have a proper Christmas pudding, although it’s usually microwaved rather than steamed.

Back in the good old days, we’d have Christmas at our All i want for Christmas is steamed hams shirt in the pool after lunch, too. When we were younger, a good present would often be a water pistol or something along those lines, so you can imagine it would get some serious use at that time of year. Sadly, there are no pools in my part of the family anymore, so we have to wait for a larger family function on Boxing Day (the day after) for a swim.
